Quick Menu

You might have seen some images with the effect of a faded brush stroke, as if pressure on the brush was released towards the end of the stroke. This effect can be best achieved with Photoshop and a drawing tablet.

Back in the day (if you didn't have a tablet, or knew about this teqnique), one way of achieving this look as to draw a line and then smudge the end of it. It looked alright, but it was slightly more time consuming than what you are about to learn.

This was made with the Pen Tool!

1. Open a new image of the size you like.

2. Select the Pen Tool (P)

3. Now make sure your selections look like this (freeform works, too):

Photoshop Pen Tool

4. Now draw down a line of your desire:

Photoshop - Using the Pen Tool

5. Now, just right-click and select (with the Pen Tool still selected) "Stroke Path..."

Photoshop - Stroke Path

6. Duplicate these settings, and click OK.

7. Done and done - Just use your imagination now.
